On this cloudy Mother’s Day, I felt fortunate to be able to spend a couple hours doorknocking with my 5-year-old son, Teddy, in our neighborhood. We had fun knocking on doors, talking to our neighbors, and Teddy was a good sport when I showed him how to shake someone’s hand.
I take being a State Delegate very seriously because I see how fast Teddy and his baby sister Eliza are growing up and I know our kids don’t have a minute to spare – every policy I push, every bill I sponsor, every community I work with – it is all to make sure that our kids have the chance to fulfill their potential.
That’s why I have spent four years advocating for our public schools, passing bills to create safe & healthy neighborhoods, and working at the local level with neighborhood groups and school principals. It’s also why I’m running again: we need effective advocates – including moms! – championing our City and state policies to advance equity and opportunity for all Marylanders. To support me as I continue to run for re-election, you can contribute here or scroll down to see ways to be involved.
This week I sent out a progress report in the mail – it reviews some of the work I’ve championed and highlights my continuing goals for the district. All my advisers said it was way too long with too much information, but I wanted to make sure that YOU know that I have been busy and working hard for you while in the General Assembly. Check it out here…
And, remember to join me at the annual community picnic I sponsor!

Whether it’s helping fund a new field in Baybrook Park or a library at Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School or passing legislation to create the state’s first violence prevention fund or championing paid family leave for state workers, I am dedicated to supporting our families and communities.
Please feel free to contact me if I can ever be of assistance or if you have any concerns about issues in your community or policy matters. I am here to serve you!
